چکیده
Abstract Background Unilateral primary breast edema may pose a diagnostic challenge. Excluding malignant etiologies is of utmost importance and require the use dynamic MRI examination as problem solver. Yet, enhancement pattern benign disorders associated with edematous breasts overlap, this add to dilemma. So, our aim in current study was assess role T2-weighted MR imaging problem-solving sequence differentiating from causes breast. Results In prospective study, 65/96 cases were 31/96 malignant. By individual analysis signal intensity examination, there significant correlation between low T2 lesion etiology resultant higher sensitivity 83.87% specificity 98.46% compared contrast-enhanced series, which achieved 80.65% 20.00%. The combined assessment WI series yielded 100% 98.46%. Conclusions T2WI evaluation breast, yielding added value approach improving overall performance MRI.

متن کاملAre TrueFISP images T2/T1-weighted?
Images acquired using the TrueFISP technique (true fast imaging with steady-state precession) are generally believed to exhibit T(2)/T(1)-weighting. In this study, it is demonstrated that with the widely used half-flip-angle preparation scheme, approaching the steady state requires a time length comparable to the scan time such that the transient-state response may dominate the TrueFISP image c...

متن کاملDiffusion-Weighted, Readout-Segmented EPI with Synthesized T2- and T2*-Weighted Images
Purpose: Diffusion-weighted Imaging (DWI) using readout-segmented EPI (rs-EPI) with 2D navigator correction [1] is an alternative to standard single-shot EPI (ss-EPI) that improves image quality by reducing susceptibility artifacts and allowing a higher spatial resolution. This improved image quality raises the possibility that the low b-value image could be used to replace a separate T2-weight...
